An important note regarding natural gut casings: Although all natural casings are packed in salt solution to prevent spoilage, they� have an inherent peculiar smell that is quite normal. Casings that have been unrefrigerated for a short time (ie. during delivery) tend to smell stronger prior to being re-refrigerated. This is entirely normal and does NOT indicate spoilage.
