The Classic Fischrom XL was developed by Fischer cutlery with professional meat and fishing industry workers in mind. A super hard chrome coating allows it to achieve a Rockwell hardness rating of 66 RHC. This means it can hone even the hardest steel blades.
The magnetised flat shaft keeps microscopic steel particulates stuck to the steel while the flat surface provides greater blade contact.
